Drug authority arrests 15, closes illegal pharmacies

The National Drug Authority (NDA) has confiscated assorted medicine worth Shs104 million and closed nine pharmacies in the eastern region for operating illegally.
This happened during a 14-day compliance enforcement exercise in the seven districts of Pallisa, Bududa, Tororo, Mbale, kapchorwa, Malaba and Tororo.
The operation also saw 15 people arrested for allegedly operating the pharmacies illegally.
The closed pharmacies included R$T Pharmacy, Obaz Pharmacy, Chriskulang Pharmacy, Spectus Pharmacy, and Watini Investment Pharmacy, among others.
